I need some help on taking the lock cylinder out of the seat separator door on my "62". How do you get the lock cylinder out. Question #2 - how do you take the short chrome molding off the top section that is above the door. I am not seeing any obvious way that these things would come apart.

Carl look in the sticky above restoration documents for the following by Richard Mozzetta. https://www.forums.ncrs.org/attachme...7&d=1499166257 It has a great explanation for this subject. Many subjects for that matter. I cannot help with the removal of the trim although I know it has been discussed on this forum.
Good luck

Carl,
Once the push button is removed, I use a fabricated tool like this one with a Delrin octagon nose to remove the chrome bezel without damaging it. But you can also wrap a chisel or large screw driver in cloth, leather or rubber sheet.

Re: seat separator compartment door, 1962
Carl,
The 2 upper and 2 lower trims are held on with special clips and are snapped over the clips to attach. Use a plastic trim removal tool on the outer edges of the trim to remove them.

Re: seat separator compartment door, 1962
Thanks Richard for the picture of the clips. I saw these on the lower molding after I took the nuts off of the screws that was holding them on. The thing is when I went to remove the molding it was stuck in place, so I had to give it a little tap to break it loose, and when I did that the clips fell out. So I did not get a chance to see how they were attached to the inside of the molding. I will look at that tomorrow. I did get the lock out today. The hardest part about that project was getting the lock ring loose. You would think that GM would have made that hex shape a standard size to fit what most people would have on hand in there shops. Thanks for the help.- Top
