Questions on mounting my 69 coupe shoulder harness

Guys,

I'm trying to install the shoulder harness on my 69 coupe and I'm struggling to figure this out. The plastic harness cover really restricts the access to the bolt and makes it very difficult to attach it. Should I remove this cover to mount them? What other way can this be done?

As I remember, I pulled the hard plastic harness cover off of the harness frame/bracket and slid it up the belt to reveal the bolt hole in the harness frame/bracket. The cover is very stiff, and if you find it hard to work with, perhaps heat it up with a heat gun. The harness frame/bracket should have a pin on it's backside that inserts into the mounting plate's small hole on the interior side of the wheel well. Align the bolt's hole in the harness frame with the weld-nut attached to the mounting plate riveted to the body's wheel well. You should be able to see the weld nut by looking into the rear wheel well from the outside. From inside the car screw in the proper size/grade of bolt to hold down the harness frame/bracket to the mounting plate. Consult the production manual, and a parts book for the correct bolt, and it's torque setting.

Thanks Richard. That's what I was able to do and once I moved the cover up the belt it was easy to install.
