    front plate frame question

Hi, my car only has one plate so the judging manual states the unused one goes in the glove box , can i put it in a manila envelope so it doesn't scratch the glove box without losing any points
    thanks Bob Peckham #66450

    Hi Bob,

I think (not sure) another "No-Deduct" option is to put an NCRS license plate in your frame on the front of the car (no scratching issues inside your glove box).

I had one on mine for 2 Regionals (2000 and 2003) and 1 National (2003) and didn't get any deducts...don't know what the status is now(?)...
    thx,
    Mark

In a manila envelope makes sense to me and have it with your spare tire lock, extra set of keys, etc at time of judging.

Seems to me that Corvettes are judged as they were delivered to the customer from the showroom floor. That would not include state issued license plates at all!

Check your AIM, for 64 see Sec 14 A3.00, 3797485 Frame asm - License Plate where note 12 states "Place in instrument panel compartment"
So no plates as delivered from Factory, however we need to have a registered car for the show so NCRS must exclude, at least, the rear plate.
And they do, see judging sheet on Exterior - item 14 & 17 which I would interrupt the frame (s) must be available not necessarily in glove box.

I have never left all that stuff in the glove box, have a book with all - it's just simpler to judge.

In my home state the "normal dealer new car preparation" includes either the transfer of the license plates from the trade in (if any) or sale of a new set of license plates. My state will issue temporary tags, and dealers can do that, but it is not normal operation. The dealer gets a "tack on" of the license fee, so they find it in their interest to be sure every car that leaves their property has a license tag.
