'96 Headlight motors running randomly

All of sudden both headlight motors start running out of the clear blue, no switch activation or anything. And, when i do activate the headlights, they continue to run for about 5 seconds after the lights are in full up position. Any ideas? Relay, motors, or headlight control module? Thanks in advance for help!

Thanks, but this morning i hit a bump and the motors went off, so i'm thinking this may an electrical issue. Car has only 39k on it.

Paul, if the gears are all or part of the problem, there's a good article in The Restorer about replacing them, Volume 43, Number 2, Fall 2016. Good luck.
