Correct 1965 Rubber Tank to Fuel hose?

Does anyone know of a Corvette parts vendor that sells the correct raised three-rib rubber fuel hose that goes between the fuel tank sending unit and the mail fuel line? I purchased one from LIC earlier this year but it is does not have the correct three-rib design. Attached is the picture of the original that I removed from my '65.

    Thanks,

    James

The only one I know is DR REBUILD..........and he quit selling the rear fuel tank to fuel line hose about a year or so ago. He has the one from fuel line to fuel pump, but it is a bit pricey.

I am not sure of the length difference between the two. You could call with a special request and see what he says. I am sure his supply is probably drying up over the years.

      Larry,

Thanks for the reply. I did see that he has the front for $37. I would assume it is the same size and configuration as the rear?

      Thanks,

      James

I bought a front and rear from D. Rebuild about 18 months ago - they were not the same length - I do not recall for certain which is longer (or shorter), I think the rear may be the longer of the two. Should not be too difficult to figure out.

and have a cert. from the vendor that the hose is compatible with modern ersatz gasolines, or made of Nitrile (Buna-N, NBR) rubber, and Viton would be the best (above -13o F). Best regards, Elliott

I'm sure that if Doc Rebuild is selling fuel line hose, it is rates for today's gasolines. Jeff doesn't sell junk.

I didn't say anywhere in my original post that I was lookng for NOS fuel line hose.

For sure, we would not want to use NOS or NORS hose for this application. A friend awakened to the smell of gasoline in his home, and found a very shallow lake of gasoline in his garage. A fuel hose had failed on his rarely driven 1958 Corvette that he had restored years ago. Fortunately, he was very smart and careful and got this situation quickly under control with the aid of the close-at-hand fire department.

And, it would be very nice to have the correct 3-ribs to replicate the original and have a cert. from the vendor that the hose is compatible with modern ersatz gasolines, or made of Nitrile (Buna-N, NBR) rubber, and Viton would be the best (above -13o F). Best regards, Elliott

I have a few NOS hoses. I will take some measurements tonight and post my findings. ARA

Thanks Ara. I haven't measured my original hose, but I would guess it it around 12 to 14 inches in length.

James, There was a time when Richard Cohen was selling that hose that I bought a ton of it from him. .
Rochester Products used the three rib hose for selling hose over the counter. for the fuel injections. NOS service replacements. In those little bags Some say it was /is correct for restorations. Maybe it is. I use the smooth hose.
Let me check to see if I have a piece of it left. If so it's yours. John

Just recheckiong this post. Anyone have a source for the correct rear fuel line hose for '65. Doc Rebuild is sold out and all the other Corvette vendors just sell the regualr fuel line hose without the 3 ribs.

                      Thanks,

                      James

A slight correction: current gasoline is not blended with methanol; it's blended with ETHANOL. If it were blended with methanol we'd have real and major problems with our fuel systems. Methanol blended fuels are not even approved for currently manufactured vehicles.
