Rear Holley Carb bowl leak from bottom pressed in plug
Rear Holley Carb bowl leak from bottom pressed in plug
Hi, The leak I had thought was from vent hose blow-by now looks like its from a small leak in the rear (bottom) carburetor bowl plug. The bowl to carb body seal is "dry." Any ideas as to how to seal this after I disassemble and clean/flush out any gas residue? I'm wondering if a few drops of Loctite 545 will seal it up...
Re: Rear Holley Carb bowl leak from bottom pressed in plug
You might try some JB Weld..... possibly on the inside of the bowl. Make sure the residue is gone in the area. Use some alcohol or suitable cleaning agent that will evaporate.
Let it cure for 24 hrs. Whatever you use must be fuel resistant.

JB Weld definitely works. I successfully sealed the back side of the pressed in plug in my Holley secondary bowl. JB Weld is resilient - does not degrade when exposed to gasoline.
