Mark, Either fuel or ignition. Seems to sound like a running out of fuel symptom. What is the status of the fuel pump, carb, and what ignition system?

Possibly a intermittent ignition coil or related issue. Coils usually fail hard when hot, then after cooling they work for a while.

I'd get it warmed up in the driveway and see if you can replicate, brakes set, in gear with some load.

You'll have to go through the motions of checking fuel system, carb, fuel pump etc. Also make sure your gas cap is venting. When it's warmed up and if symptoms return release the cap and listen for hissing sound. If so it's a bad cap.

It may take some time to diagnose, but you need to narrow down which area is at fault first, fuel or ignition.
