    1963 BW T10 4 spd questions

A friend just dropped off a early 63 T10 trans for me to go through along with the shifter and linkage.

I have a few questions I am sure someone can address. I won't get to this for a few weeks so no rush.

The input has one groove, were these marked the same as Muncies meaning this is a CR trans? It came out of a 340hp swc.

The shifter is pretty sloppy. We used to toss them and install a Hurst but he would like to reuse this one. Does anyone know of any pictorials showing the break down. I didn't look too close at it yet but there is a pin with a lot of play in it so many I can machine a new pin to tighten it up.

I believe I saw 2 sets of numbers stamped in the case and a date code on cast in the cover.

    Thanks
    Gary

Try Vette Parts of Michigan for shifter parts. http://www.vetteproducts.net/

There is another thread running with the Close Ratio Gears for a 340/360 hp 63. https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...-ratio-options

        Gary,

The single ring on the input gear for 63 T-10 indicated a wide ratio box.

Put it in first gear and count the front gear after turning the tail shaft one turn. Wide box = 2.54, close ratio = 2.20

            Gary,

Main Drive Gear tooth count for 2.20 close ratio is 27 teeth.

Main Drive Gear tooth count for 2.54 wide ratio is 25 teeth.
