This is for a 1957. Later C1s may have easier access. I just installed the windshield into the frame. I have my windshield assembly set onto the body and am installing the nuts onto the side frame assembly studs. The T-bolts were easy to access.
With fingers, it is impossible to reach the frame assembly rear studs from under the dash. To remove the windshield, I got the driver side nuts unscrewed from the courtesy light opening. The passenger side is more open. I was able to reach the passenger side nuts and remove them with a combination wrench.
Now it is time to install the nuts onto the side frame studs. I was able to reach the forward passenger side nut with my fingers. Does anyone use a device to hold the nut at the stud so that it can be twisted onto the stud? Is access through the courtesy light openings and that allows the nuts to be installed?
