    Larry,

Based on what is shown in the ‘66 AIM, GM 3793788 is not the item that you show in your photo. GM 3793788 is the fastener shown on UPC 12, C1, item #8. The one shown in my photo is from my ‘66. The item in my photo secures the bottom end of the plastic sheaf that hides the upper portion of the turn signal switch wires.

Which begs the question, what if anything secures the wires to the lower portion of the mast jacket? My wires were secured to the mast jacket by two, white cable ties, which are not shown in the AIM, and which I suspect were added by a previous owner.

Gary>L.I.C. shows my part for that fastener that holds the directional wires to the column. Wonder if Joe Lucia could
make a comment. I can not find the indentation where my part should go. Since my car is a very very early 66 I wonder
if they(GM) where using up the 65 columns that may or may not have used this part?? Larry P.S. I agree with your last
statement>I do not believe that GM would use "Two White Cable" ties to do this job. JMHO

I gave you the wrong vendor;it was supposed to be Paragon>Part Number 17825
Looked it up at L.I.C. and found 18-20F In the page of 18. Same part as Paragon> Larry P.S. Will not come up on their
computer when you give that number but is in their book on page18. Do not ask me why

there's a small hole in the mast and the little spring ear of the clip slides into it.

I believe the little clip IS part of the wiring harness, attached originally to the plug. But over time the plug gets knocked off the clip, which remains in hole in the mast, until it too is knocked loose and lost.

You can't see the hole since its on upper side of the mast, but you can see where it is located.

                  Don,

And does the part of that clip with the saw tooth edges somehow attach to one of the harmonica plugs?

yes there is a little slot in the plug to slide onto the clip.

this will be near impossible with the lack of space in that area. Gary>Any idea's on how to install this clip?

                          Larry, et al.....

                          Pushpin photos in here.....

Maybe a small flat-bladed screwdriver with double sticky tape to hold the flat head of the pushpin, wiggle it into position, and push into the hole?

Sorry I thought you were talking about pushpin, I see the connector clip now.

The prints are in the DoRD sticky. I'll look there maybe it shows a slot in the column.

                            Rich,

There is a 1/4” diameter hole, about 6.5” below the hole where the pushpin inserts. That 1/4” hole is rotated about 150 degrees around toward the top, so a bit to the outboard side of the mast jacket. I assume that’s the hole where the metal clip attaches. Now that I know how tight the space is, I’ll be sure to attach the clip to the mast jacket before I reinstall the column in the car.

Don, am I correct about that 1/4” hole?

                            Gary
