59 Dual Quad Gas Filter

Gentlemen,
I hope you and your loved ones are well!

Question, I have ordered numerous gas filters over the years and have always received the ones on top on both pictures, i.e., with a hole through the filter. The one that was on the car, bottom on both picture, is blocked on the bottom.

The car has a glass bowl with dual quads 270 HP option.

Any suggestions?

All the ones I've seen including the original GM sintered type are open at the bottom. I'd have no problem using the one on top.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

When I closely looked at the manner in which fuel is extracted towards the carbs, makes sense with open bottom filters.
