I'd appreciate any help here on the forward splash shields that are under the body in front of the driver and pass. feet. Either white plastic or metal shields were used depending on production time. I'm hearing a number of opinions on this and help from owners with a 69 close in production to the one I have would help a lot. I have a 69 L36 wo/ac here #236_ _ July 69 build. It's front shields are missing. Thanks for any help. Mark

The shields on my original owner, September, 1969 built convertible were white plastic. The metal shields were actually 1970 shields but were also used on very late 1969's probably due to the extended 1969 model year.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1969 forward splash shields, plastic or metal
My Jan 20 built 1969 Has white plastic shields.
FWIW: The 1968-69 TIM&JG says the plastic shields were dominant through Spring of 1969, and intermittent with the metal shields through mid 1969 production with metal dominating Fall and later 1969 production. Just what Joe L said.
Lots of interesting data in the 1968-69 TIM&JG, but then I am biased.Terry- Top
