Rear Stabilizer links for 98 base Coupe

Time to replace the rear stabilizer links on my 1998 Coupe. Was told by GM dealer the original links have been changed by GM to a different service replacement. Looking for best replacement to keep links original. Thanks in advance.

The original rear stabilizer links for your car were GM #10254908. The current GM replacements are GM #20822934. These may also have been used in PRODUCTION on later C5. I do not know how the 10254908 differs, if at all, in configuration to the 20822934. However, I strongly suspect that the later part represents an improvement over the former. I think I'd use the later.

Stephen, a few years back I replaced all of the sway bar links on a friends ‘99 coupe. While I was very impressed with the lightweight composite design of the originals, they were completely worn out on his car at about 60k miles. I believe the rears were worse than the fronts, but all four were clearly in need of replacement.

At the time I had read about an improved GM design that I believe was used on the C6’s, perhaps that it the GM replacement Joe is referring to. My friend chose to go with Moog P/N K750126, much heavier than the originals, they are greasable and will probably last the life of his car. While I wouldn’t consider them the best choice for originality or judging, my friend said that his car has never handled better.

The GM #20822934 is the rear stabilizer bar link applicable to C6 Corvettes.
