65-66 Telescopic steering column distance from dash

Could someone with a 65-66 telescopic steering column installed in their car tell me the measured distance between the end of the directional housing closest to the dash and the steering column when the column is in its closest and furthest positions? Thanks

Jeremy, does the AIM show what the setting /distance? I think that you can just set it according to what you feel is comfortable. Since it does have some adjustment.

AIM doesn't show anything that I could see in the telescopic page, and the standard column only says that the end of the shaft on goes halfway into the that side of the rag joint.

Thanks Elliott. Someone else also gave me the same measurements, so I think its safe to say those are good values.

Jeremy, I just measured mine and it is 7/16 in and 3 1/2 out (measured on the bottom). Don H.

I did finally find in the Service Manual where it called out a distance of 0.06" from the lower end of the directional housing and the collar when reinstalling the column.
