There are two vendors that make and sell N11s - both are reported to be excellent. I got mine from Corvette Central - great customer service - you can get a ferrous metal system (that will rust) or an aluminumized system - it will last longer than you will. Fit - perfect - sound ----- even better. Aluminumized will take a hit on judging.

Roy, I've been using Corvette Central Exhaust for years with no issues. As for using that NOS set you have. I found that there were too many bends in the 63 system to retrofit then left pipe to fit the right side. Also, dealing with the flattened pipe made the issue worse.

Try the Corvette Central system. You'll like that kit.

        Roy,

I too have used CC's N11 system on my '65 L79. It installed easily and fits great. In the past, I installed a N11 system from Allen's Stainless Exhaust Systems in Logansport, IN. on a '65 396, it fit great also and sounds great. Not sure if Allen's is still in business. I know you requested info for a '63, but wanted to give you my input.

I used Gardner, https://www.gardnerexhaust.com/ on my 63 Coupe. You will need to weld the mufflers to the rear pipe.

I used Corvette Central N11 on a ‘63 for a customer of mine. It took three set to get a set that did not not have dents in the mufflers. Their packaging was not that great, plus shipper was rough on the boxes too, so it was a combination of both. If I was ordering from CC I would stress that the mufflers should be well packed. It was too much of a hassle to deal with, but they eventually got it corrected. I mean I had to take pictures of everything.

I believe Waldron's Antique Exhaust in Michigan is the supplier of the Corvette Central N11 system. Some background here,

                        Re: Off road exhaust suggestions.

I'm a recent buyer of an aluminized Corvette Central N11 set for a 63. I chose CC for the free shipping and wanted the mufflers welded.

The weld on one muffler is excellent. The weld on the other looks like it was done by someone just learning how to weld. It probably doesn't leak but it is very ugly.

The pipes just before the mufflers have 6-8" dents/gouges in them. The gouge in front of the nicely welded muffler is the worst of the two.

I sent photos to CC Customer Service and they sent them on to the manufacturing department. Answers were ambiguous.

What I understood was a) they have had some complaints but not many, b) the gouge is factory original but mine is worse since the machine they usually use was not used for some reason, c) "Joe Schmo" does the welding and he typically does a good job. Based on this (which did not say there wasn't any problems) Customer Service has declined to authorize a return.

After spending tens of thousands of dollars at CC over the past 4 decades this is a serious disappointment.

Most of us have never gotten our 53-55 CC exhaust sets to fit properly but thought I'd give them another try (also their 55 mufflers are incorrect). I still don't know how well this 63 set would fit. My research tells me that the trick (other than the defects I've described) is getting the mufflers welded to the intermediate pipe at the proper orientation to have the muffler exit pipe centered in the exhaust bezel in the valiance panel. You'll never know until you install both sides.

                          Re: Off road exhaust suggestions.

Bummer - any way you cut it. I purchased an N11 aluminized welded system from CC too - one side went in perfectly - the other - not so - it was impossible to make it fit - if I connected it at one end it was short on the other. I took the good side out and laid them side by side - it was obvious that the bad side was not configured the same - it was not aligned properly when the pieces were welded together. I called CC - they gave me a shipping label to return it - and sent me a replacement that was correct. I spoke to a tech rep after I sent it - he confirmed that it was welded incorrectly. He told me they have a jig that the pieces are set in to align the pieces before they are welded - he said who ever welded it did not position the pieces in the jig properly. Their bad - and they stood behind their product. I would ask to speak to someone up the corporate ladder - you may get satisfaction that way.

Guess I will have to elevate the issue to Steve or Jerry Kohn. But still I will never know how it fits until a year or so when I'm ready to do the install after restoration.

BTW watching the video that was referenced earlier I discovered that the NOS system they copied had part number or date stamps on it. It would be handy if they were delivered to us that way.

DENNIS HAKIM has a NOS set complete. $3000. I will hook you up if interested. I hear GARDNER makes a great repo. NO ONE makes original 63 exhaust pipes
