Folks

It appears that an actor with the email address of nibb9881 at gmail has been posing as me and asking members for gift cards. The original email appears to be from me and went to Texas Chapter board members. It may have been sent to a wider audience but I thought I would let the membership know that hackers are at it again.

This has been around NCRS for quite a while now. Although it will say it is from someone you know, if you look at the email address it is not from them.

Yep....got a few over the last 2-days supposedly from out Chapter Chair.

As long as we provide contact information for our members scammers are going to be scouting for emails they can try to scam with. All of the email addresses on our site are encoded to make it harder for robots to harvest, but the robots get better and we have to look for new ways to block them. It is like the Roadrunner and Wiley Coyote.
