1954 turn signal flasher issue

I just read Eric's article in the Restorer and I have that exact same problem which I have been trying to figure out for a long time. I even went as far as finding an NOS turn signal switch to see if the problem lies in there. My dash indicator light fades out after one blink or so. I figured it had to be a ground issue. so I put a real NOS flasher in it and it still does it. I have a LL harness in the car. Its covered up now but have another one in its original box and Ill try that one in about a month. In any case if it doesn't work Ill try running a ground wire from the P terminal but does the wire just slide in where the flasher plugs in? Thanks for the help.

Does anyone have a answer for the 1954 problem to the turn signal flasher not working. My right signal works fine but the left one does not. The arrow lights up and tail light comes on but wont flash. Someone told me there was a lot of info on this. Can anyone help?

Michael,
Have you tried a new bulb on the left side? There are two filaments in that bulb, one for the brakes and one for the turn signal. Possibility, one of the filaments is broken. You could swap the right rear to the left rear and see if that fixes it (before buying a new bulb).
