Attached is a photo of a NOS Delco heater blower motor stamped "5044795", "5T" (or maybe "5I"), and dated "257 3" (September 14, 1973) that I bought at a swap meet decades ago. The part number sticker on the Delco box is missing. Based on my research I assume that this heater blower motor is GM service part # 4960505 as listed in Gr. 8.855 in my 1974 Chevrolet (but not Corvette) Parts Catalog (July 1974). This motor has the double flat shaft. The instruction sheet states "use service fan package 3027031".
Question #1: Is the number "5044795" the correct heater blower motor of 1974 Corvettes without A.C.? By researching this site I found a 1973 Corvette heater blower motor stamped "5044790", "5T", and ""79 3" (Mar. 20, 1973).
I also have a used original Delco heater blower motor stamped "5044800" and "6C 0247" (Jan. 24, 1977) that I removed from my 1977 El Camino without A.C. which I was the original owner. My 1977 Chevrolet (but not Corvette) Parts Catalog (Mar. 1977) also lists GM # 4960505 as the part number for all 1977 models (exc. A.C.).
Question #2: Is it possible for GM service part # 4960505 to have motors with different 7-digit stamped numbers?
The 5044795 motor and 5044800 motor appear to be identical except for the stamped numbers.
