70-72 front grille holes

Wonder if GM always knew the 3 studs attaching the lower edge of the front grille would soon be replaced with 2 screws.

This is an original 70 front clip with both the 3 holes for the studs as well as the 2 holes for the screws. Not sure if early or late

My guess is that it is a late front end, as my January 29 1970 has only the holes for the studs. If that lower valance has never been replaced.

No evidence there had been any work done. Its hanging in my garage and the inner glass shows it hasn't been touched. Thanks Terry
