I have had two 1973 coupes.

One early in the production year and one mid year construction.
Neither one of them have the cuts described in the aim

Wonder what the cuts are for?

V-out the cut with a die or small grinder, then fill in the damage with fiberglass mat laden with resin. Let cure, sand, repeat as needed. Since it's not structural, fiberglass reinforced plastic filler, like Bondo Glass, can also be used.

Resin and sanding dust will go everywhere so mask off the surrounding area.

It's not an exterior panel or structural so this would be a good first time project.
