    Production date

The date stamped on the trim tag in my 1965 shows January 30. The info I received from NCRS show the car was produced on February 1. Is this discrepency normal?

    Re: Production date

    Welcome to the hobby, Roger.
This is not really a discrepancy. One is the date the car started down the assembly line; the other is the completion date. Some are 2-3 days apart depending on day of the week and holidays.

Welcome and yes Reba is correct. The date on the trim tag is the body build date, and the completion date of the entire car can be several days after that, I have one that is a week later.

Thanks for the quick response. I have owned the car since July of 1973. Only recently joined NCRS. Now attempting to learn more about the first eight years of its existence. By the way, I once owned an Elkhart green 1972. Beautiful car.

Thanks for letting me know. I've always considered the build date as Jan. 30. It's interesting trying to put all the facts together. The history of these cars is so important.

Good luck on the history, always so interesting and important to know. BTW, by now you have probably noticed many Corvette color names are associated with race tracks.......

Oh, yes. My 1965 is Nassau blue.
