Hi everyone!
I'm installing the 1969 N14 Side Mounted Exhaust system on my '70 Coupe. My '70 AIM contains the detailed information on it (although CANCELD stencil on the lead sheet). My question concerns the Body Sill Heat Insulator installation (3964115), which is an odd keystone shaped foam piece. UPC N14, Sheet A2 depicts the removal of the existing fiberglass flap covering part of the end of the frame rail to a dimension of 0.18". What is not depicted is what is to cover (protect) the newly installed foam piece from road damage in the hostile wheel housing area.
Attached are some pics of the insulator, the AIM sheet, and my installation of it.
Any suggestions of how to properly and correctly protect would be appreciated, as I would like to adhere to as factory correct as possible.Exhaust Instruction.jpgSide Exhaust Insulator.jpg
Thanks!
