    Inconsistent Speedometer

I know this isn't a new problem but my memory is getting bad. I have a 65 that was in storage a lot of years before I got it. The speedometer is sometimes radical and sometimes just off. It seems to get better the more I drive it. Any suggestions on what to do appreciated.

The easiest and probably most effective would be to replace the speedometer cable. There is a good thread on getting a correct speedometer cable in the archives.

I will check that out. Odly I took it out for about a 20 mile run today and downloaded an odometer app and the speedometer was very consistent and within 3 to 4 miles per hour off from the app. I'm thinking that is about as close as it gets. I didn't get any of the erratic movement today. I'm wondering if the lub inside the cable is just starting to free up. I will watch it to see if I get consistency.
