I have a steering problem on my 65 396 after full restoration. I removed the gear and the front steering was hard to turn. I isolated the turning tightness to the idler arm, which was extremely tight. This was a new Moog part, purchased about 4 years ago, no miles driven. I ordered a new Moog unit, it is also tight to rotate, but not as severe as the take off part. Does anyone have the design spec for the turning torque of the arm on its pivot bearing? Tx john

Re: Idler arm design spec
John, if you have not installed you could return to try another. Moog parts quality has slipped over the years. Parts are made all over the world now. What use to Be the best front end parts is now second best, just my opinion. sometimes these parts require a few miles on them and a few shots of grease.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
