Front Plate required by Minnesota in 1977

Can anybody tell me if Minnesota required a front license plate to be installed in 1977?

Oliver: My guess is two because of the many sold in pairs on ebay and other spots. Also, the answer might be in here. It's a very interesting page:

Your guess sounds pretty reasonable. And thanks also for directing to the wiki-page. In there (and by searching google) I just did not really find what I was looking for - so asking your brother in law would really be great! Thanks in advance...

Yes, MN did and does require a front license plate in 1977. The only time they don't require one currently is if your car is licensed as a collector.
