Wanted: 1977 Corvettes for information

Currently the 1975-1977 Judging Guide is undergoing a much-needed revision.

We are learning that several items transitioned during the 1977 model year. Our current accessible sample includes cars built early in the model year through November 1976. We then have a large gap until April/May of 1977 with no cars to evaluate or review.

If any of you might have a 1977, especially made from December 1976 though April 1977, please let Tom Russo or myself know. We would like to occasionally send you questions regarding items on your car. If you have a 1977 made other times of the model year we would also like to know as even today we found an option item added sometime between September and November.

My wife Dee owned 1977 Corvette VIN #1Z37L7S433634. CORVETTE was ORANGE code 66. It was a 1st week May 77 production. OPTIONS were all but FE7 Suspension and L82 engine which were not certified for California delivery. The orange paint was a late color. Yellow was early.

Delivered new 5-24-77. Serviced every 3000 miles. Dee was the original owner. She passed June of 2017. I cared for that car all the time. It had 80755 miles when she gave it to her grandson in 2017. Photo of DEE and me at BIG SKY MONTANA meet 1978. We won class show trophy and she got the PENOPLY TURTLE AWARD for ''slowest Salomne Racer''

So Cal NCRS member MARV STOBER owns a lite blue 77 with a blue engine. Our engine was orange. Marv still has their car.

I have an April '77 Corvette, L-82 4-spd. Happy to help if you have questions. I have noticed a lot of parts were transitioning during the 1977 model year. For example, my car has many 1978 parts (e.g. t-tops, weatherstrip, etc).

If any of you 77 Corvette owners have Option "UM2" AM/FM Stereo w/8 track, do you remember if GM included this 8 Track tape in all Corvettes with this option?
