    69 AshTray Cover

    Hi everyone,

I have an '69 ash tray cover that is "supposed" to be NOS however it is not black as I would expect but a bit gray. Perhaps it's primed but as far as I know regardless of interior color the ash tray cover was black. Any one know if this is correct for an NOS cover?

    Thanks,

    Jack

As installed in the cars, all of the ash tray doors were painted black. However, in SERVICE the doors were often, if not always, supplied in gray primer. The part number was GM #3947951 and it was discontinued without supercession in October, 1995.
