1967 clock, is it quartz or not

When I shut the juice off, it runs on for 45 to 60 seconds, I thought it would stop right away, the second hand is fairly smooth, and if it is quartz where is a good place to put it back to mechanical. thanks

It's mechanical. The clock is electrically wound every few minutes. When you shut the car off and disconnect power to the battery, the clock will continue to run for a short period of time.

Exactly right, an original clock will also have a ticking sound with distinct movements from second to second as the second hand sweeps..
You will also hear the "snap" of the clock rewinding every couple of minutes or so.

Quartz movements sweep smoothly and silently and immediately stop when power is removed.

        Keith,

As noted above, appears you have a mechanical clock. In response to your thread title: 1980 had a mechanical clock - 1981 clock was quartz.

Its not quartz - The Clock Works can install an original-style OEM Borg movement for about $160 - (they did so on my 63 clock); but the word is there aren't many of those mechanical movements left...

Actually, my '81's clock was digital.
