Despite my expression, I really WAS thrilled.
It's my understanding that few, if any, have received a Founders and Bowtie on the same car in the same year.
When someone is doing a crappy job, everyone notices. When someone is doing an exemplary job, it is so seamless and smooth that almost no one notices. This is what Vinnie is doing as he has taken everything he has been given to a new level.
Unbeknownst to many, however, Vinnie escapes the stresses of life by riding his hobby horse as you see him doing in his photo. So, when you see Vinnie, I think everyone should give him a quarter so he can ride all he wants!
As always, awesome pictures of the convention. Again this year my son Jacob and I had to miss the road tour and convention. Jacob once again qualified to race in the All American Soapbox Derby World Championship Race in Akron, OH. last week. He won the Masters' Division Rally Challenge Race on Wednesday were he raced in a field of 56 cars from all over the US and other countries and had one of the top 5 fastest times of all the Masters' Division cars for the week. He finished 16th in the World Championship Race on Saturday racing against the same 56 car field. We are hoping to participate in the 2020 NCRS Road Tour and attend the convention, that is unless he again qualifies for the AASBD World Championship race.
