I just replaced my 1963 glove box and straightened out the non-factory light in the box.
The new harness came with the correct end but I figured there was no way to remove the old clip from the original light without making a mess of a difficult to find light.
So I decided there was going to be a splice somewhere.
When you pull out the glove box it is difficult as you can't disconnect the light (it will not fit though the stock hole in the glove box liner without disconnecting the light from the wire and the light assembly will not fit through. Pictured is my solution with the splice. (Note; I bought an in-line fuse but did not use it, picture below).
Now the glove box light is fused and the assembly hidden above the box where it is out of sight.
