I have always used Eastwood Chassis Black, ( Original Chassis Black). They have different levels of the stuff. The Original is the closest to the factory paint. The underside of the hood should be a flat black.

Eastwood Chassis Black is a satin gloss..........which I believe is correct. However, semigloss can also be used, knowing it will degrade to a more satin finish with time........as car build occurs.

If you are mixing your own paint, add appropriate flatner to get a 70% gloss. I always used PPG Deltron and DX 685 flatner.
