In Part 3 I'll cover the aluminum housings used for 1970-82 Corvettes with Turbohydramatic transmissions. These housings were used for the following Corvette applications:
1970-82-----all with THM transmissions
These housings use 2 long starter bolts for attachment to the engine block. These bolts are the same as the long bolt used for 1962-72 Corvettes with the aluminum "1 long and 1 short" bolt housings. There were 3 different part numbers used over the 1970-82 period. GM #801188 was used for 1970-77. GM #1893864 was used for 1978-82 and SERVICE for 1970-77. GM #1984097 replaced the latter for 1970-82 SERVICE in 1984. The GM #1984097 is now discontinued.
