Wish I could help but it looks nice...not sure about that top bid price. Some nice features. I see the original hood cable release has the original loop style wrap to secure the cable to the distributor housing. Master Cylinder looks like it was changed out which means brake system was serviced in some way. Mufflers look like they've been replaced and something done to pipes...like paint. the spare tire tub was blacked out. Also, looks like the oil pan paint was freshened up. Shocks changed out, exhaust pipes painted black underneath (look like it) and painted silver in rear. Lot of blackout paint underneath, half shafts, underbody panels.
It's apparent its clean and has been serviced, though those efforts resulted in a deviation from original finishes. Looks like a perfect candidate as a driver but if you plan to campaign the car (getting it judged) it will present challenges.
Ed,
Happy New Year my friend. I hope you find a good one. I have my Dad's original pace car in the GM wrapper. Has 70 miles. Car could be a good source of info for you, and it would give you an excuse to come up (bring Robert too?) and have a few beers on me. ARA
Ed, can't sell. My dad bought it new from Mirak Chevrolet in Arlington Mass. Got an extra set of nos red stripe rims too. Was my favorite of all his cars as I grew up. It's mine now. He gave it to me for my 40th
Love for you to see it. It's incredible. Hasn't been buffed out from the factory
No decals applied. He knew everyone at the dealer. Come up any time. You're family
...
Regards
Ara
Agree with Tom's assessment.......driver quality with many flight judging challenges. Attempts at preservation have created serious issues. New tires but incorrect.
