2017 Grand Sport rear wheels (RUR) Black with Red stripe

The rear wheels on my car have cracks on the inner lips of the rear wheel allowing them to have slow leaks. Does anyone else having this problem with these wheels, or this problem with any other type of wheels on thier Grand Sports

Arthur, have you spoke with GM on the problem, there should be a -1-800 cust. service number in the owners manual. If you have hit some bad pot holes and the wheels are bent and cracked there may not be any recourse .Todays low profile tires and light aluminum wheels are easy to damage. I Always say the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Does not hurt to follow through with a talk with the factory Rep. or your local dealership, I had a issue with my aluminum wheels with the clear coat peeling and water getting under it and they refinished all my wheels.

Art, a few of my friends who have the GS wheels have complained to the factory their wheels are cracked. One was able to have them replaced under warranty at a local Chevy dealer. I will check with some of the others that have suffered this problem. There is also some owners that complained of this problem on the Corvette Forum.

When Tadge Juechter was asked if some wheels were made in China he replied that Corvette wheels were made in North America. That includes Mexico. Thatis were my CRACKED WHEELS were made.

OEM cast wheels for many cars are manufactured in Japan, Mexico, China and, probably, other foreign countries. Casting is somewhat of a "dirty" business and EPA environmental regulations have driven a LOT of casting, both cast iron and aluminum, to foreign countries.

By the way, you sure don't want to need these wheels out-of-warranty. They currently GM list for $860/each + core charge.

Joe I sure agree with you on the "OUT OF WARRANTY" thing, but there is no warranty these wheels. They expect them to break and then attribute it to potholes and you get to buy new ones and there is no warranty on them either

I'd take them to Wheels America and see if they can be repaired.

Or, if you have a friend who works at / runs a body shop, they have connections to swap them for ones that are already repaired. I've had this done before on my truck.
