Vin# 636% and my left headlight bezel does not have headlight washer holes in the bezel. Is that the correct one? Thanks in advance. When did they change? Thanks, Paul

Paul,
My '71 LT1 coupe, built "very, very close" to yours, VIN #7164, does have headlamp washer holes in both the LH & RH headlamp bezels.
FYI, I'm the original owner of my LT1, and, know for a fact that these haven't been "changed out" or replaced.

Re: January first week 1971, did it have head light washer holes in the bezel?
Ray, mine is 4 digit vin #(I left the last one off) which was assembled January 7th. I understand that was just after the labor strike. I am going to the body shop this morning and check the right side. Thanks for your help in this. PaulIt's a good life!

Re: January first week 1971, did it have head light washer holes in the bezel?
From the TIM&JG
After the SN 2,400 serial number range, 1971s do not have headlamp washers. However, many cars have
bezels with holes up to the SN 13,000-serial number range. (1971 SN 8,655 has bezels
with no holes for nozzles. 1971 SN 9,079 has bezels with holes, but no nozzles. 1971 SN 13,107 has one
bezel with holes only and one without.) Some intermittent style mix is normal in this range.- Top

Re: January first week 1971, did it have head light washer holes in the bezel?
Thank you Reba and Ray, I went to the body shop and checked my bezels. I am the third owner with the middle owner having it for only a short time. I must have looked at the bezel upside down or on a bad day. Today I found that both have holes for the washers. If I recall correctly, my washer is a 5 port with 2 ports joined by a hose loop. Thanks again. I am searching for a metal bezel with washer holes. NCRS is the best! It's a good life!

Paul
Your original vacuum/washer hose harness should have the remains of the headlight washer hoses near the hood support. Around 3 feet or less of the hoses were left in the headlamp washer harness, but both ends of the headlamp washer hoses went nowhere. If you are replacing the vacuum hose harness, keep those washer hose remnants. We will look for them. On further review only replace the vacuum hose harness if absolutely necessary, The replacements are detectable.Terry- Top

Re: January first week 1971, did it have head light washer holes in the bezel?
Sorry everyone,
The VIN on my '71 is 7164 (not 673 . . that's my '65 coupe's VIN) . . . .
FYI, my '71 was built on January 19th, 1971
Once again, it does have the headlamp washer holes in both bezels.
I'll have to check and see if my original vacuum/washer hose harness has the "remains" of the headlight washer hoses near the hood support.
Stay tuned . . . .

Re: January first week 1971, did it have head light washer holes in the bezel?
Usually, I'll see the the headlight washer hoses trimmed near the horn relay. I have seen them trimmed closer to the hood hinge and support, but not very often.
If somebody has them trimmed close to hood hinge, can you snap a picture and post? Might make it into the Judging Manual.

I got down to the body shop but left my camera at home. I took a photo or two with my phone but it was the end closest to the firewall. I will go back tomorrow and shoot the front end with my camera and post it. Sorry for the confusion on my part. It's a good life!
