1978 brake caliper unpainted machined areas

Does anyone have a photo(s) that would show what surfaces are not painted originally on the calipers, or have detailed description of same?
The JG says calipers "were painted before machining". Does that mean all machining?
In any case, age removes most machining marks, so I can't tell exactly what's what as far as surfaces that should not have paint.

All machined surfaces of the calipers were unpainted. It's that simple. I believe the caliper raw castings were painted prior to machining. Thus, where any machining was subsequently performed the paint was removed.
