I have a friend looking at what appears to be a 1960 passenger car block. Numbers are: casting 3756519; date D 13 0; assembly F04I4DB. The question is since it is a passenger car block, is there any way to tell it is different from a Corvette block other than the pad assembly stamping? Thanks, Don H.

Re: 1960 Engine
The casting date format for a Tonawanda block has two digits for the year, but I don't know if they made small blocks in NY that long ago. I think this block would look just like a 1960 Corvette 283. I will look for some photos.https://MichiganNCRS.org

Re: 1960 Engine
They did cast blocks at Tonawanda that long ago. However, this is a Saginaw-cast block since it was machined and assembled at Flint.
Externally, this block would be identical to a block of the same casting number used on Corvettes. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
