Good way to "soften" the bottom of the headrest

Guys,

I'm looking to clean up the bottom of the headrests on my 69 coupe. The headrests are in pretty good shape but the bottom has wrinkled and stiffened over the years. See attached pics. Is there something I can use to soften this up some so I can glue it back down? Thanks for your help.

BTW I do realize it is like this due to the seat belt guide being there and crushing into the headrest when it is down. I just want to get it back in shape as best as I can.

take a heat gun, or a hair dryer that gets hot, and hat it up some. Trick is to get it just warm enough it will lay down and stay stay there with glue.

I agree with Gary's advice. Be careful with the heat gun though. Too much heat will wipe out the vinyl's A surface grain. Ask me how I know 😳
