1957 Axle bumpers

There are two styles of axle bumpers . One is short and rounded . The other is pointed and longer . Would a late 57 take all four short ones.August car

Dan,

AIM shows two different part numbers for front and rear bumpers. Dwg "revised & redrawn" 4-57 , no prior history shown. As I recall my early car has what I would call "short and rounded" over the axle and forward one's part number appears to be later. Don't know that that's definitive, but hope it helps.

My late 57 has the more pointed bumper over the axle, like that shown in the drawing on page K89. The forward bumper is more rounded, like the ones on K88.

After a lot of research the late 1957 had pointed bumpers over the axle and rounded one over the springs.

Wedge shaped ones go on the back over the axle. The pointed cone shaped ones go on the front .
