    Check your coil.

I have had the same issue years back and found it to be that when the oil inside the coil heated up the motor would stall; once the coil cooled back down it would run fine again.

Tom - I know you said that it is not Fuel, but What about the fuel filter? One of my cars would run for a very short while and then shut down. I thought it was worth mentioning.

Tom, I had that problem with an L-71 and it turned out to be the distributor coil. Failed when it got hot. However Ron's suggestion is also a good one as fuel filters or rubber lines can create starving. Good luck.

Not with an L-71. It's almost impossible to plug up a Holley filter. It should IDLE all day. But, high RPM operation is another topic.

A fellow Chapter member had a similar problem with a 66 big block. Found the repro distributor cap was faulty.
