large head 69 LH & RH side view mirrors

I have a '69 that is 2nd flight (going no further) and want to add new left hand and right hand side view mirrors with large glass area. Are there any suggestions for my best option for these 2 mirrors? thank you, Don

I know that Corvette Central was making these; I assume they still do.

I would think real hard before I'd add a right side mirror, but that's just me.
Given 2018 technology, it would be so easy to add a rear view camera that no one would ever see, and then no holes in the fiberglass need to be made. I've not found the side mirrors on these cars to be that useful anyway. Usually you just see fender peaks.

      Hi Patrick,
I'm looking at these 2 which measure 7" across:
DocRebuild 34 years supplying authentic 1953-1982 Corvette reproduction parts. We develop & market quality replacement parts using original samples, original blueprints and modern material and methods. NCRS No Correctly Restored Stingrays C1 C2 C3 oOSOEZ, No zip. No bling.

Let me know if you have any thoughts on the above 2 USA made and I'm fine if they have a negative impact on judging as the car is a 2nd flight and I won't be taking it any further.

Geoff doesn't make them, and I suspect they are the same as any other "large" head USA-made mirror. There aren't both 6 and 7 inch mirrors for the 75-79 years.

The holes impact resale AND the next owner, and you can't really get rid of them someday without a LOT of work. As much as I like passenger's side mirrors, I would personally find a different solution.

That is best, once the right hand mirror is installed, to leave it be. Ask me how I know.

Contrary to Patrick's opinion I found the right hand mirror very useful in daily driving. I suspect our varying opinions is a matter of the mirror adjustment and/or seat positioning.

I suspect our varying opinions are due to the fact that you installed one 48 years ago.

As I noted above I do like them - but I would not add one.

And if I were faced with that opportunity today I would not do it either. Driving is different today and roads are different today, and I know more today than I did 48 years ago. However, I atill don't regret my decision.

I take your post to mean that you already have a passenger side mirror and want to change it and the drivers side mirror to the larger '75-'77 style. If so, the deduction for the passenger side mirror would remain the same (1`or 2points for the non-factory holes in the fibreglass) and the drivers aide mirror would take a deduct for having the wrong size head.

I've had both size mirrors on my '73 and didn't find much difference. Not worth the bother.
