1967 427 AC 390HP water Pump Pulley Part number suffix

Is a 3889372 BF three groove pulley the correct one for the 67 BB AC cars?
Does it matter if it has the alpha code in it? Could it be just a 3889372 with no suffix?

Mine does not have the prefix code. It does have a "S" 180 degrees from the part number.

Peter thank you for the info and picture. So would you think if the pulley had an alpha suffix is was incorrect?

GM #3889372 is the correct waterpump pulley for your application. Most that I have seen do have the "BF" suffix code. However, personally, I would not consider one without the code to be incorrect.

You're welcome. I think either way is possible. My car has had work done to it in the past, so I can't say with certainty it has never been replaced.
