What is the original length of the fan belt on an air conditioned 63's. Quanta's belt is to long. As far as that goes their compressor belt is to short.

Re: 1963 with AC Fan-Alternator belt
Craig, all of us with 63's with A/C have had the same problem. It's late and I can't get to my files but as I recall a compressor belt made by Z06 productions has the correct length. Please search the archives. As I recall they make parts for either Corvette America or Corvette Central.
I'll check back late tomorrow to see if you found the supplier/part you need.

Craig------
According to GM, the original fan belt, GM #3759221, was 3/8 X 55-1/2". The original compressor belt, GM #3840397, was 11/32 X 57".In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1963 with AC Fan-Alternator belt
Harry and Joe,
Thanks for your input. It has helped me come to the conclusion that GM #3759221 is the length of the fan belt that was made for a non-ac engine which has a slightly larger pump pulley. As far as the compressor belt, mine measures 57" so I guess I'll just shoe horn it on somehow. Also Corvette Central lists there ZO6 brand belts for 1964 ac engines 2" shorter for the fan belt and 1/2" longer for the compressor belt, they should be the same width. I think I will try that even though won't have the correct part numbers. Thanks for the help!- Top

Keep this one thing in mind: I believe that sometimes the folks at St. Louis did not use the belt specified in the AIM. The only positive way to know what belt was originally used is to have a car that still has its original belts and read the part number off the belt.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
