    Power Steering Pump

Why are all my problems lately P/S related. The 63 was running fine last week. I had replaced the P/S control valve and the steering cylinder, runs like new. Today I start the car and there is a ticking noise at the front of the engine. It's either water pump or P/S pump. I pull the belt from the P/S pump and the noise is gone. Do P/S pump bearings go that often? I don't think I've every seen that bearing for sale.

    Any thoughts?

    Harry, Join the club!

So....Seems unusual to have a bad bearing, but one never knows where things come from these days.

Maybe you have a loose pump pulley.

On 2 63's, on one(wife's) the Crank Pulley was loose and it sounded like a internal fault. Tightened the bolts and relieved it was fixed.

The other was a friend's that had a cracked Crank Pulley and that one caused a vibration, which he felt but wasn't aware of the pulley issue. I found that one by chance when I took it off to clean it up for a repaint.
