    C2 interior quarter panels.

Long Island Corvette lists interior quarter panel bumpers (part no. 19-72)for 64-67 roadsters. I don't see them in the factory assembly manual. Comments?

    Thank you,

    Randy

Some had them, some didn't. IIRC it's in the AIM. I think it was a "As Required" item, much like a shim. I see them sporadically when I take cars apart.

I'd imagine they were used if the quarter panel rattled around. If so, they'd put the rubber bumper(s) on the edge of the panel to de-rattle it. They usually fall off the edge upon removal of the panel and drop into the annuls of hidden space, which is why not many folks know about them.

      Rich,
I know this is off the topic but just wanted to share. Just so you know if the carpet in the 3rd photo is supposed to be teal, well it's not even close. Originals are much much darker. I don't know of anybody with correct color carpet let alone configuration.

When I did my interior I hand dyed it and sew in the original pinch welt also by hand thru the original holes. Yes sick.....

Gene, You are bringing up a topic that had me pulling my hair put then. You are absolutely correct. NO ONE had the right Teal Blue carpet shade or configuration when I did that car. This was back in 2011 IIRC. I got samples from all of the carpet vendors, Al Knoch, ACC, Corvette America, and a few others. I also had the repro carpet that was in the car to compare, and the owner who bought the car in 1968, had a new(er) repro set he bought from a vendor and he sent it to me. It wasn't right either, and it sat in a box for so many years that I couldn't get the creases out of it. Showed visible lines everywhere.

Every carpet set was different and not even close to the proper shade, wrong beading, wrong heel pads, you name it. Very frustrating.

I decided that the only one who had the closest beading and pad configuration was Al Knoch, so I went with that even though the shade was off. I spent way too much time analyzing it and we had to decide.

What you did was tedious, but I bet you felt better after it was done.

        Rich

The 65 convertible I'm taking apart now has those bumpers plus small rectangle carpet scraps as cushions. The carpet parts are a saddle and the interior is black
