67 distributer date codes

Second owner, found date code 6 C 14, which is March 14, 1966. Manual says there was 1966 carry overs. Original owner states it has never been replaced. Is this possible? Does anyone have info? Thanks

It's possible but not typical, my 67 is a September 66 build and my memory (not 100%) tells me the distributor date is August.

Paul,

Like Tim says, possible but not typical. If its the original and seems like that's possible I would not change the date code. Explain to the judges if you are going to get it judged. If you are not getting it judged it won't matter anyway.
And if your getting it judged and a few points separate it from a top flight you got a lot more to worry about.

My 1967 April build 390/427 has an engine dated March 29 1967. The distributor is dated 6H15: August 15, 1966. I've owned the car since 1982 and have no reason to think the distributor is not original to the car.

build date was 1-15-67, it's an L36.
