69 foam bell housing insulation seal

ready to drop the body on my 69 L46.

is there any specific way to position the foam collar properly on the bell housing? Just looking for a way to have it positioned properly. The Aim shows it on the tunnel of the body, all the catalogs say it is glued to the bell housing.

    Thanks,

    Rich

Rich, I don't think the factory put it in the same exact place every time, I would do a trail fit and then glue, the AIM may show some sort of measurement also.

ok, I will use the 3m glue I have for the rubber moldings around doors and windows. I can't find a reference in the AIM on position so I will just wing it. It looks like it is in front of the tunnel insulation. The pictures are clear enough to get the right orientation (it is not uniform in shape) so I will try to index off of the tunnel insulation or the shifter hole. Thanks guys.

Thanks much. This gives me what I need.

I learned a lesson here - search the current technical discussion stuff as well as the Archive. I had just been looking at the archive for research.
