1970 wiper motor label repro vs original

My 70 appears to have the original wiper label with correct part number 5044758 but date is 40-2-A
WHICH I READ AS 1970 2nd January whick looks right for a March 70 build date car all repros I can find have dates that are not even close
Is mine original or what ? Does somebody make a repro to my date or a random date that is with a quarter ? WHO
    does it right? Terry ?

    THANKS Bob

Re: 1970 wiper motor label repro vs original

I've been looking for something of the like for my '71, except that on my '71 (mid-December '70 build date) it wasn't a sticker. It was more like a silk screening that I inadvertently cleaned off when I was detailing the engine compartment. Fortunately, I had written it down before I cleaned it off. It had the wiper pump number on it (5044758, a 5-port pump with 2 ports closed off to each other) and the numbers 252 0 2 which I interpreted to mean the 252nd day of 1970 (9/9/70), second shift. If I could even get a sticker with that on it I would use it. I still kick myself for washing it off!

Paragon Reproductions will reproduce the wiper motor labels. Paragon part #8341@$2.00 each + s/h. You'll need to fill out a form with all your car's info. when ordering, or just call them and they'll take your info.

Here is a sample. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I figured Paragon would be the one, my date still doesn't seem to match what they are selling Does anybody recognize the date coding on mine ?

        Thanks

I have a 70 here with this label. This is also a March built car. Are you sure you read your decal right?

Jimmy....I called Paragon again today for a correct dated decal for my wiper motor/washer unit. Last Fall the closest to my very eary build date was Nov. '72. I got it thinking something wrong date is better than no date and part number. Of course it was notice and deducted for at the Texas Regional as I would have done the same being a Mechanical Judge. When I called them today they said they do not make individual decals. They only make three different date coded ones in rolls of 3k each so it will be awhile before more are made.

I am still looking for the right decal. My Corvette build date is Sep. 13, 1972. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

              Hi Pete,
I didn't know that. I thought they would print any date you requested or one close enough to be correct for judging. Thanks for posting that info, it would be useful to others. I'm not sure if anyone else does these Mylar silver labels. I'll be sure and let you know if I find out anything.
BTW - I saw in the Restorer that you and the car achieved 'Top Flight' at Texas. Congratulations on this great achievement!
