Anyone recommend a good quality eady to install power steering kit for a 63

This may be a future project. Most all the corvette parts vendors have them but has anyone installed one lately or know of a good one.

I have not done one, but have friends who loved the Steeroids kit:

Personally, I recommend only retrofitting an original type 63-82 Corvette power steering system. I would not consider for even a moment retrofitting any other type of system. Doing so can end up with many "pitfalls" and require other modifications. The original Corvette system works wonderfully and provides a good measure of road feel. There's absolutely no need to "re-engineer" a power steering system for a 1963-82 Corvette.

You can obtain complete or nearly complete systems from most of the major parts vendors. Dr. Rebuild or Lonestar Caliper are 2 good ones that come to mind. Most of these systems will include rebuilt pump, control valve, and cylinder with some reproduction parts and some other new parts. This is a bolt on installation and requires absolutely no modifications. Once installed, it's virtually impossible for anyone to discern that the system was not originally installed on the car.

        Chester,
I would second what Joe recommends. I did a power steering install on a 67' Camaro and other than finding the right pulleys (it went along with a 454 engine swap) it went smoothly and I couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome. I used all original production parts. I have considered doing the same thing on my Corvette. I think it would be easier on the Corvette.

Chet, Lonestar sells a kit , but the last kit I installed was not a real deal control valve they are making new ones now, I understand that there is a shortage of original valves these days.
