Heater box seals on my 66

I bought a heater box rebuild kit from Dr Rebuild. His kit includes two donut type foam seals which the instructions show go over the heater core tubes on the outside. His instruction do not indicate glueing them, he just says they are held in place by the heater hoses.

These seals are not mentioned in the TIM&JG and are not called out in the AIM. Are they correct for a 66 and should I use them?

    Thanks,
    Don Harris

So are you saying they were not used after the 63 model year?

I did find them called out in the 63 AIM but not in the 64 or later.

Did you order the glass on the phone or on their web site. I had no luck using their web site it says they are on back order but when I called on the phone I was able to place the order and had dated windshield in less than 2 weeks.

I ordered over the phone with on of their sales people on July 1st. Clear glass, dated, and all the glass. When I placed the order he said they had everything. Three weeks later I called him and left a message, email but got no call back or email. Another week and I called again and he happened to answer the phone. He said they didn't have all the glass. Latest I got from him, by me calling again because the charge hit my credit card.

I was was expecting a few weeks wait, but their customer follow up leaves a lot to be desired.
